This is the second time we've been to Atlanta but the first I've taken my family with me. The first time around was during Thanksgiving and I remember that it was getting to cold to do anything outdoorsy. This time around, we still did the tourist attractions including CNN, Coca cola, the Underground (not all that), the Aquarium, and this time Turner Field (I'm a METS fan so we were only there because they were too.)

During the nights, a couple of us younger adults went to the bars. It was a blur to me how the bars were but I remember Hoedowns well during our first time. This trip, we only went to two bars, Swinging Dicks/Richards which has the best all male revue (come early before the dancers start looking inebriated) and BJ roosters, a good neighborhood bar with dancers (the one's that didn't make it to Richards, I gather). The bars close by 230am..being from NYC where bars are sometimes open till the dawn and travelling with family made difficult for us to venture out earlier without exhausting ourselves to death.

During the weekend, our family went o Dillard Georgia, which is right by the stateline between Georgia and NC. It beautiful up there and very peaceful. There's tons to do when you're there including hiking , whitewater rafting, horseback riding, mini golf, bowling, and antique shopping (lots of it). If you have cabin fever there are a handful of bars (all str8) and also a girlie bar on rt 441.

Cherokee, NC is only 45 minutes away and that's an all day trip the whole family can take. There's Harrah's Casino, Unto these hills (which is a Cherokee theatrical presentation), some petting zoos, and lots of Native American exhibits and stores. It was fascinating to meet some of the modern day Cherokee Indians living there and their history and plight are truly remarkable.
